Title: Living the good death
Author: Scott Baron Stars: 4/5 stars Summary: Dorothy a girl that think she's death wakes up and realizes she's not in Kansas, and that she can't kill anybody. A failed suicide attempt and she getts locked up in a asylum, with a crazy doctor that really do belong in the asylum. On her way out of the asylum and back to becoming death she starts finding herself, and starts to understand life. Overview: "I did receive an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review" I can happily say that this book was amazing! The Synopsis for the book just makes it seem very much more complicated then it is. I was dragged into the book in the first 50 pages, and even if the book had a slow pace it never became really boring. Sure I may have jumped over some sentences some times but that always happens when a book is 900+ pages long right? The book deals with mental illness in an deep but still funny way. It left me thinking about death for the left of the night again. Even the mentally ill characters where amazingly done and you could not help but to like them, a lot. Offensive content: This book deals with mental illness but not in a offensive way, I would say that unless your very very very sensitive this book is great! Cons: As I said in the overview I skipped some sentences because of the book being as long as it is. It felt like the book was a little dragged out at some places which left the ending feeling very overwhelming, everything happening at the same time. I also had a very hard time understanding the doctor. Even if he had some struggles we never really got the whole explanation to why he is the way he is, and Stan to. Stan doing everything the doctor said had no explanation but it left a little place in my brain wondering if he may have been in love with the doctor? Pros: The writing style was amazing. The way the book referred to Dorothy as: The girl who think she's death was so clever. It made the book more mysterious and magical. The characters was well done especially Curtis, what a wonderful character! A food loving character can't be bad right? I would love another book focusing just on him! The romance was just perfect, not instalove as it some times can be but more of a slow burning beautiful romance. Also the friendships in this book made me smile, a lot. This is such a beautifully done book! Quote: Since this is an ARC I did not pick any quote sorry!
