Title: Illuminae
Author: Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff Stars: 5/5 stars Summary: Kady wakes up thinking that the hardest thing that would happen today was breaking up with her boyfriend Ezra, however she finds herself going to bed on a spaceship, on the run from a warship, soon close enough to nuke them. Just to stop them from telling their tale. But however that´s not the only problem, because a virus spreads on the spacecrafts and it´s mutating. Also the fleets AI, that is supposed to protect them has gone mad. Overview: This book is told through documents, emails and much more and I adore it. It took me a while to get into this book, about 200 pages. But when I did you could not put it down. The whole world, the characters, everything was just amazingly done. Offensive content: There are a lot of swearing but it is blurred out. -Spoilers down under- Cons: The book took me way too long to get into, since it was told in this way. I really do find it sad because now I have to reread Illuminae to be able to really enjoy the first 200 pages. At the end part, when Ezra is said to be dead and she´s all alone with hundreds of affected and AIDAN i found myself being so depressed because I really did think that she was going to die. It just made me not wanting to finish the book, because I did not want Kady to die. Everybody was dead or soon to be dead and I just wanted the put the book down. Now I keep wondering, what would have happened if I did? So I think that there should have been something more than to defend Hypatia to keep the book going. Pros: I really enjoyed the characters, and after reading this book I just found myself wanting to be more like Kady. They where so well done, even in this structure which is truly amazing. All the characters was amazingly detailed even AIDAN. Also the romance was amazing, even if they just kissed once in the end of the book. (I really do hope that Kady and Ezra will name one of their kids Aidan.) The plot twist made me lose my mind, both of them. I did not se them coming even if I had this hope throughout the last part of the book that Ezra would fall from the sky and save the galaxy. Quote: "The fighters are tiny. Insects, really. But ants can slay an elephant, if there are enough of them. Especially ants armed with high-yield explosives and depleted uranium."

Title: The scorpio races
Author:Maggie Stiefvater Stars: 4/5 stars Summary: Every November, the race begins. But this year it is different. Sean Kendrick has won the competition four times in a row. He is the island's best rider. Both he and Kate Connolly, the race's first female participant have more to lose than ever before. But only one rider can win. Overview: This book is filled with beautiful nature descriptions. When reading it you can almost feel the wind in your hair and hear the ocean, the waves when they hit the rocks. Its beautiful! The water horses are deadly, but they have a beautiful aura surrounding them. They made me want to get one. Even if the book is pretty slow paced it was amazing. I found the slow pace in this book making it even more enjoyable. Cons: I usually don't like the typical "girl without parents that has to show everybody that she can take care of herself" plot but I guess that it slipped away with Maggie´s beautiful writing. But how could it not? Another problem I had with the book was that the race did not start until the end of the book. It felt like Maggie built this thrill for the race, but when she got there she stopped caring for it, she let it slip away. I really wanted to have those cool racing scenes ... Pros: This book is the perfect semester read. I can just imagine how amazing it must be reading this book and really hear the ocean. Since the book had such a slow pace it made it a lot more calm. The characters in this book was so realistic and they fitted the book perfectly, a match made in heaven. Seans quietness is also beautiful, he says 1 word when others say 10. He must not use more words because he can get all the things he want to get said said in those few words. Puck has an amazing temperament that you just must love. And Finn was probably the most amazing character in this book, since Maggie just like him does have OCD she really did make him realistic. And I think that if I would have OCD i would connect with him so much. If you have never read a Stiefvater book start here. This book is truly amazing. Quote: "I say, "I will not be youre weakness, Sean Kendrick." Now he looks at me. He says, very softly, "It's to late for that, Puck."" Title: Six of crows
Author: Leigh Bardugo Stars: 5/5 stars Summary: Kaz Brekker has gotten an offer, if he can break into the Ice Court, a military base that has never been breached and retrieve a prisoner he will get wealth beyond his wildest dreams, but will he succeed? Overview: This is one of the best books I've ever read, the characters are amazingly sculpted and the plot is very original. I have not read such an original YA fantasy book in a long time. The book is very dark and mature, wich makes it even better. Six of crows dont have any spoilers for the Grisha Triology but however the second book Crooked Kingdom does. -Spoilers down under here- Cons: I have read this book two times and I still find it very hard to find faults in this book. However I did find the middle part a little bit boring some times. But the awesomeness of the book made up for it. So if I would have to write down one thing that could have been better it would definitely be the Prologue, I just didn't understand it and it nearly made me put down the book. The first time I read the book I kept waiting for Joost to show up, but he didn't. Apart from that and the slow romance between Inej and Kaz I could not find any other cons with the book. Pros: Since everything with this book screams perfection it would take ages to write down all the pros about this book, so instead I will just fangirl a little(Turn the volume down). Kaz, precious precious Kaz. I love him. He is evil, but in a good way. Even if I found his backstory a little bit ehm hard to understand. I really could have needed an other book before Six of crows with all the backstories since it became a little bit to much for my little brain to take in. So lets talk about Nina. She is AMAZING. She is that girl that every girl want to be. She loves food, and who does not? Like seriously she packed toffees when Kaz said "only bring essentials" that. Is. Awesome. Jesper is so funny. I really do wish that I could nail those comments. He is just a great character and when he talks with Wylan he´s even better. They are sooo adorable. So in a short overview this book has left me with a new boyfriend, three new ships and a huge craving for toffee. Quote: “No mourners. No funerals. Among them, it passed for 'good luck.” Title: Daughter of Smoke & Bone
Author: Laini Taylor Stars: 2.5/5 stars Summary: Karou is a girl with blue hair. She speaks many languages, not all human and disappears to go on weird errands around the world. She has always wondered who she is and she´s about to find out. At the same time black handprints are appearing on doors around the world, set there by winged creatures who came from the sky. Overview: I had many problems with this book. I really enjoyed the story and most of the characters however I had some problems with the instalove. I know that I probably did not give this book a fair review since I was traveling when I read this book. Often I only read in short reading passes which made it difficult to get into the book and bound with the characters. Cons: I was very disappointed by the instalove, since it just made the book feel childish. Also I had a huge problem connecting with Akiva, he just did not have any emotions. The first time Akiva fell "in love" with Karou they barely met. They never had a good conversation and pooff they were in love. Like that would happen. Pros: Except for the fact that the love sucked I think the book was good. I really enjoyed Karou being such a cool character and now I want to revisit Prague just to se all the places they saw. It would be amazing if the cafe where they ate goulash soup, I haven't checked if it exists but if it does I promise I will fly there and eat goulash and sit and think about Karou. The world building was just amazing as I sort of said. (Me wanting to return is an amazing sign since I have sooooo many places in the world I want to visit) Quote: "Have you ever asked yourself, do monsters make war or war make monsters?" Title: Black Beauty
Author: Anna Sewell Stars:4/5 stars Summary: "Black Beauty tells the story of the horse's own long and varied life, from a well-born colt in a pleasant meadow to an elegant carriage horse for a gentleman to a painfully overworked cab horse" -Goodreads Overview: This book could make the most evil person in the world cry, I promise. The first time I read this book I was about 9 years old and it had a huge impact on me. Unlike other classics Black Beauty has a feeling of sadness and struggle over it. Even the brightest points of the book was not enough to shine through the layer of sadness. However I think that´s a good thing since the book was first written as a prostest against the treatment of draft horses during the 19th century. Cons: I feel like this book was particularly weak in the area of events and pace. In the middle part of the book and forward it felt like the same things began to recur, and as a child I thought it was quite boring. Offensive content: There is no swearing in this book (or sexual content) however I want to warn sensitive readers that it occurs some graphical scenes where the horses are treated very badly. Pros: I especially appreciated the point of view since it is very unusual for a book to have the point of view of an animal. The point of view gave an insight of how Black Beauty felt and thought, which helped me to connect with Black Beauty and feel the pain he felt. I also loved that it toke place in London nearly 150 years ago(Because who doesn't love that?)
